Christina, have you ever read Recollection Creek by Fred Gipson (author of Old Yeller)? It's hard to find because it is out of print (I think), but Ashlea might have her copy. It's a very humorous story of a boy growing up in early day Texas. Very entertaining for all ages.

Well in keeping with the spirit of AMAZING fantasy/coming of age novels/great adventures i just had to recommend the Heir Chronicles, by Cinda Williams Chima. So far i have read the first two books in the series (The Warrior Heir and the The Wizard Heir) and I can't stop reading... I'm so glad i bought the trilogy as a book set (and, as it so happens, these books were NY Times Best sellers).

Well I don't want to spoil the books (because you HAVE to read them and you would be super mad if i spoiled them for you), but i will say that the author does a great job integrating history with fantasy! It's one of those books that (if you REALLY stretched your mind) you could believe in... kind of like Harry Potter and you just realize you're a muggle (or in these books, an anaweir) .... I could write loads about the books, but i think you should prob just read them :)

Ok, Nicole. Your wish has been granted!! :) I've read the books you recommended and I agree-- they are GREAT!! I'll be reviewing them this weekend! :) Thanks again for a great recommendation-- you are quite a good book-compass, often pointing me to enjoyable, profitable reads.
